What the report says

AllAfrica reports that Heresy Press, an imprint of Skyhorse Publishing, has acquired Misadventures on K Street: My Decade with the Architects of Modern Political Scandal, the second memoir by K. Riva Levinson, who is CEO of KRL International. The company announcement says the book is scheduled for publication on February 16, 2027, and is being presented as a prequel to Levinson’s earlier memoir, Choosing the Hero.

The memoir centers on Levinson’s years working with the Washington, D.C.-based lobbying firm Black, Manafort, Stone & Kelly during the 1980s and early 1990s. According to the publisher’s material, the book draws on archival detail and describes her experience as a young woman in a male-dominated political world, alongside overseas travel and work tied to international clients. The reported settings include Washington and several countries where the firm’s work intersected with Cold War-era geopolitics.

Heresy Press Director Bernard Schweizer praised the manuscript in the announcement, while Levinson described the book as an origin story for both her own career and what she sees as modern lobbying. The publication notice also says Misadventures on K Street is available for pre-order. More broadly, the release highlights continued public interest in memoirs about lobbying, diplomacy and the behind-the-scenes machinery of political influence, especially when tied to the history of U.S. foreign policy.
