What the report says

Rangers are close to sending midfielder Thelo Aasgaard to Anderlecht on loan, according to BBC Sport Football, while the Glasgow club have turned down a loan offer from Besiktas for Belgium international Nicolas Raskin.

BBC Sport reported that Aasgaard, 24, was due to travel for a medical in Brussels after Rangers accepted an offer from the Belgian side. The article said it was not yet clear whether the proposed deal would include an option or obligation for Anderlecht to buy him permanently. Aasgaard, who joined Rangers from Luton in 2025, has scored once in five appearances this season and is under contract until 2029.

The same report said Besiktas had made a loan bid for Raskin, but that Rangers rejected it. The 25-year-old has been linked with a move away after attracting attention following the World Cup, though manager Derek McInnes said earlier in the week that the midfielder had been professional during the uncertainty. Raskin has missed Rangers’ last two matches amid the transfer speculation.

The developments underline an active late-stage transfer period at Ibrox, with one player set to leave and another retained despite outside interest. Such moves can shape squad depth and balance as clubs weigh short-term needs against longer-term plans.
