A Pass counts losses after floods hit Najjera home, studio

What the report says
Ugandan musician A Pass is dealing with flood damage at his home in Najjera after heavy weekend rains caused water to enter the house, affect his parked Mercedes-Benz and submerge equipment in his home studio, according to Sqoop Uganda. The singer, whose real name is Alexander Bagonza, described the situation during a TikTok livestream and said he found floodwater spread through several rooms when he woke up.
He said the worst losses were in the studio, where water reportedly filled the space and damaged equipment he had invested in. A Pass also said the cleanup would be expensive, estimating that cleaning alone had already run into hundreds of thousands of shillings, though he did not provide a full total for the damage. Sqoop Uganda reported that workers had already spent a day clearing the house and were expected to return.
The flooding also appears to have affected nearby properties. A Pass said several neighbors experienced damage too, including collapsed perimeter walls. He blamed the destruction on poor drainage along the road to his home and said residents had raised the issue months earlier without seeing a lasting fix. The report highlights a broader concern for homes and businesses in the area if drainage problems remain unresolved before more heavy rain arrives.
