What the report says

Gematsu reported that Idea Factory International has set an October 27 western release date for 9 R.I.P. sequel, the follow-up to the otome visual novel 9 R.I.P. The game is planned for Nintendo Switch and will be sold in both physical and digital formats, with a limited edition also listed among the release options.

According to the publisher’s overview cited by Gematsu, the sequel continues after the endings of the original game and again follows Misa Isshiki during her second year of high school. The story places her amid the romantic and supernatural consequences of earlier choices, with different developments depending on the route players pursue.

Idea Factory International describes the game as featuring nine routes tied to returning love interests from the previous title. The sequel includes “Heavenly Routes,” positioned as direct continuations of the earlier Heavenly Endings, as well as “Godly Routes,” which are framed as sweeter epilogues to the first game’s Godly Endings. The publisher also highlighted returning character art by designer Yuuya.

The western launch follows the game’s initial Switch release in Japan on September 25, 2025, according to Gematsu. For otome visual novel fans, the announcement confirms localization plans, platform availability and release formats for a title that expands on the original’s branching romance and supernatural storylines.
