What the report says

BGR reported on July 20, 2026, that physical-keyboard Android phones remain a niche but active category, highlighting four models available to buyers in 2026: the Unihertz Titan 2 Elite, Clicks Communicator, Minimal Phone and Ikko MindOne Pro. The report frames the devices as alternatives or companions to mainstream touchscreen phones, aimed particularly at users who prefer tactile typing for email, documents and messaging apps.

According to BGR, the Unihertz Titan 2 Elite costs $489.99 and runs a near-stock Android 16 build, with promised upgrades through Android 20 and security updates through 2031. It includes a MediaTek Dimensity 7400 chip, 12GB of RAM, 256GB of storage, a 4.03-inch 120Hz AMOLED display, programmable keys, a touch-sensitive backlit keyboard and a 50MP main camera plus telephoto and selfie cameras. The Clicks Communicator is listed at $499 with Android 17, at least four years of OS updates, five years of security patches, expandable storage, a touch-sensitive keyboard, a fingerprint sensor in the spacebar, and notification lighting tied to a side key.

The Minimal Phone is presented as a digital-detox option, using a 4.3-inch e-paper touchscreen and a QWERTY keyboard. BGR says it starts at $449, ships with Android 14 and promises five years of software updates. The Ikko MindOne Pro, priced at $429, can be paired with an $89 snap-in keyboard case that adds battery capacity and a headphone jack.

The broader significance is that these products show how the old BlackBerry-style form factor has re-emerged with modern Android software, app support and features such as programmable shortcuts, though BGR notes they do not directly compete with flagship phones from Apple, Samsung or Google.
