The 21-year-old, formerly the world’s top-ranked amateur, closed with a bogey-free 66 to finish at 25-under par, a tournament scoring record, and beat world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler by three shots. The win came in Koivun’s third Tour start as a professional and carried a $1.584 million prize.

Koivun entered the final round with a three-stroke advantage after shooting 61 on Saturday, including a tournament-record 28 on the back nine. The victory adds to a rapid rise for Koivun, who won two national team titles at Auburn before turning pro after the U.S. Open. Scheffler, meanwhile, recorded his fifth runner-up finish of the season and remains in the FedExCup race, according to Yahoo Sports.
