Jalopnik reports that Audi has revealed the 2027 Q9, a new three-row SUV positioned above the Q7 and described as the brand’s largest vehicle to date. The model is aimed at full-size luxury SUV rivals such as the Mercedes-Benz GLS and BMW X7, as well as large American entries including the Cadillac Escalade. The outlet says the Q9 also becomes a new flagship for Audi’s lineup after the end of the A8 sedan, excluding limited specialty models.

According to Jalopnik, the Q9 measures 209 inches long, nearly 10 inches longer than the Q7, with a 123.5-inch wheelbase that is 5.6 inches longer. It will be offered in a standard seven-seat layout or an available six-seat configuration with second-row captain’s chairs. The third row is listed with 29.1 inches of legroom and 39.8 inches of headroom, while cargo capacity ranges from 19.3 cubic feet behind the third row to 87.7 cubic feet with rear seats folded.

The report highlights upgraded interior materials and added technology, including available wool upholstery, Nappa leather, multiple trim choices, power-operated seats, magnetic wireless phone charging, USB-C ports, a three-screen dashboard layout, and an optional 22-speaker Bang & Olufsen audio system. Jalopnik also notes power-opening doors, a split tailgate, a large panoramic roof with optional adjustable transparency, and advanced lighting features.

A key U.S. detail is the SQ9 performance version, which Jalopnik says will be exclusive to the American market and powered by a V8 producing 591 horsepower. The launch matters because Audi is moving into a higher-capacity luxury SUV segment where several competitors have long offered larger three-row models.
