2026 WNBA All-Star Weekend winners and losers: Jonquel Jones and Dominique Malonga shine, the Sky no-show - CBS Sports

What the report says
CBS Sports reported that the 2026 WNBA All-Star Weekend in Chicago concluded with Team Spoon defeating Team Coop 129-122 at the United Center. Jonquel Jones was named All-Star MVP after recording 22 points, 13 rebounds and eight assists, making her the first WNBA player to have won regular-season MVP, Finals MVP, Commissioner’s Cup MVP and All-Star MVP. The game drew a reported record crowd of 19,783, with Caitlin Clark adding 17 points and Olivia Miles nearly posting a triple-double.
The weekend also featured several firsts. Team Washington won the inaugural Shooting Stars competition, led by Elena Delle Donne, Shakira Austin and high school player GG Banks. Azzi Fudd, the No. 1 pick, became the first rookie to win the 3-Point Contest, scoring 30 points in the final round. CBS also highlighted Dominique Malonga, who at 20 became the youngest player to dunk in a WNBA All-Star Game.
CBS framed the event as a showcase of the league’s growth but also noted tensions around Commissioner Cathy Engelbert. During her pregame press conference, Engelbert did not directly answer whether she expected to remain in the role in 2027, amid recent scrutiny of her relationship with players and an ESPN report cited by CBS saying some team sources expect this to be her final season.
The Chicago Sky were listed among the weekend’s losers because, despite hosting the event, the franchise had no player participate in any All-Star Weekend competition. The WNBA regular season was scheduled to resume Tuesday after the break.
