What the report says

MacRumors reported on July 27, 2026, that Amazon has adjusted its listings for Apple’s 2026 MacBook Pro lineup to reflect Apple’s recent price increases, ending the publication’s tracking of earlier “pre-hike” markdowns. Even after the higher baseline prices, the site said Amazon is still offering discounts on selected 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro configurations, with savings reaching as much as $500.

For the 14-inch models, MacRumors listed the 24GB/1TB M5 Pro MacBook Pro at $2,299, or $200 below the new price. It also reported $500 discounts on the 15-core 24GB/2TB M5 Pro model at $2,499 and the 36GB/2TB M5 Max model at $3,599. Another 14-inch M5 Pro configuration, described as an 18-core 24GB/2TB version, was listed at $2,959.99 after a $239 discount.

The larger 16-inch MacBook Pro models also have several Amazon discounts, according to MacRumors. The 24GB/1TB M5 Pro version was listed at $2,799 after $100 off, while a 48GB/1TB M5 Pro model was priced at $3,378.19 after a $221 reduction. The article also cited a 36GB/2TB M5 Max model at $3,999, down $300, and a 48GB/2TB M5 Max model at $4,499, down $500.

The development matters for shoppers because the advertised savings now apply against Apple’s increased prices rather than the earlier pricing structure. MacRumors disclosed that it is an Amazon affiliate partner, meaning it may receive a payment when readers purchase through its links.
