15-year-old arrested in connection to Bite of Seattle shooting that killed 3, hurt 4 - KOMO

What the report says
KOMO News reported that Seattle police have a 15-year-old boy in custody after a mass shooting Sunday evening at the Bite of Seattle festival at Seattle Center left three people dead and four others injured. Officials said Monday that the teen is being held on suspicion of first-degree assault and firearms violations, while investigators continue looking for a possible third suspect. Mayor Katie Wilson and Assistant Police Chief Nicole Powell said no one had been formally arrested on a homicide investigation as of the Monday update.
The King County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the people killed as Junior Cee Niko Semo, 19; Carlos Israel Sanchez Villalba, 44; and Ashley Whitehead, 56. KOMO reported that court documents allege three people were involved in a gunfight during the food festival, with investigators believing the teen and one of the people who died exchanged gunfire with at least one unidentified person. Police described the violence as believed to be gang-related, but officials declined to discuss several details, citing the active investigation.
Four injured people were treated after the shooting, including a 2-year-old boy. Harborview Medical Center received three surviving patients — the toddler, a 39-year-old woman and a 23-year-old man — and KOMO reported Monday that the two adults had been discharged while the child remained hospitalized. A 27-year-old man who arrived at UW Medical Center–Montlake was also later discharged.
The shooting occurred just after 6 p.m. near the Seattle Center Armory while the popular festival was underway. Officials said surveillance footage from Seattle Center is being reviewed, though cameras were not positioned directly where the gunfire occurred. Seattle Center has reopened, and the city planned another update Tuesday.
